It’s the little things in life that bring joy, like fancy in-flight amenities. Even if you’ve packed in-flight toiletries in earnest—stuffed to the brim as much as airport security will allow it—sometimes, it’s nice being pampered and taken care of by someone else. Airline amenity kits happen to be one of the few joys of flying (or only joys, depending on your outlook). Which is why it’s a treat to find a stylish, thoughtful kit at the ready when you arrive at your seat. It’s even nicer when great brands come together to create amenity magic. From Byredo on Emirates to Sunday Riley on United Airlines, here are the best in-flight amenity kits for your flying needs.
Emirates Airlines: Byredo for Emirates Wellness kit
If you’re lucky enough to be flying Emirates First Class, expect to receive a Byredo travel wellness kits in your private suite. The minimalist Swedish brand created a skincare range exclusively for Emirates. The chamomile-infused essentials include a cleansing face towel, eye cream, facial toner, roll-on sleep mist and pillow mist. Other high-roller perks include a Bulgari amenity kit, Hydra Active moisturizing pajamas and Bowers & Wilkins active noise-cancelling E1 headphones.
United Airlines: Sunday Riley
In 2019, United Airlines upped its in-flight game by announcing a partnership with cult favourite skincare brand, Sunday Riley. A United Polaris Business Class ticket comes with a Sunday Riley amenity kit featuring a pomegranate seed oil and shea butter-infused lip balm, hydrating face cream, hand cream and facial cleansing cloth. The United Premium Plus amenity kit gets in on the action too with a lip balm and hand cream. You’ll also find Sunday Riley stocked at United Polaris lounges and United Clubs.
Cathay Pacific: Aesop Amenity Kit
Get your hands on Australian brand Aesop‘s chic amenity kit when you take a First Class flight by Hong Kong-based carrier, Cathay Pacific. There are two versions of the kit, featuring the brand’s Camellia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream and Rosehip Seed Lip Cream, alongside toothpaste, toothbrush, earplugs, a comb or brush, monitor-cleaning cloth and mouthwash. Fun fact: the airline’s amenity kits are so coveted, they’re also up for grabs on eBay.
WestJet: Province Apothecary
Canadian airline WestJet kept it local by teaming up with two homegrown favourites: vegan leather purveyor Matt & Nat and organic skincare brand, Province Apothecary. The cruelty-free amenity kit comes with a hand and body cream, lip balm and refreshing towelette packed inside a Matt & Nat case. All business class fliers can find them on board the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Air Canada: Vitruvi
Air Canada partnered with Vancouver-based apothecary brand, Vitruvi and Montreal-based WANT Les Essentiels in another Canadian collaboration. The sleek kit features a lip balm, face lotion and zen-inducing roll-on essential oil for all Air Canada Signature Class passengers flying internationally. The brand even developed a signature scent for the hand creams, face mists and hand soaps stocked in the airline’s washrooms. Earlier this year, the kit was voted best business class kit in the Americas.
